The newly established programme in Digital Humanities at the University of Vienna is seeking a programmer! Your colleagues will include a professor of medieval history with a past in software engineering, postdocs with assorted skills in Java, XML, and web programming, and Ph.D. students finding out what neat things they can do with technology in the field of history.
You should have prior experience in web application development on both the front and the backend, ideally using at least one of the common Perl or Python web frameworks. You should also be comfortable working in a Linux server environment, managing system and software package dependencies and debugging problems around software upgrades.
