This\u00a0post is based at the\u00a0DRI offices at the Royal Irish Academy in Dublin. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months, starting\u00a0no later than 1st\u00a0October 2017.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leading and managing a project to specify the requirements for building\u00a0research data preservation capacity in the DRI, including related workflows and\u00a0policies.<\/li>\n<li>Incorporating international best practices in research data management,\u00a0and working closely with DRI staff across areas of expertise.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating on reports, articles, fact sheets and guidelines, and academic\u00a0presentations.<\/li>\n<li>Contributing more broadly to the ongoing development of the Digital\u00a0Repository of Ireland via involvement in relevant taskforces and working\u00a0groups.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining and developing relationships with organisations who may seek\u00a0to deposit research data with DRI.<\/li>\n<li>Actively contributing to grant and funding proposals for DRI leveraged\u00a0projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required\u00a0Qualifications and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Post graduate qualification in Library,\u00a0Archival or Information Studies<\/li>\n<li>Proven knowledge of metadata standards,\u00a0workflows, and best practices in digital archiving<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in one or more aspects of digital\u00a0preservation, data curation, digital archiving,\u00a0research data management<\/li>\n<li>Experience in managing a project from the\u00a0initial scoping phase through to completion<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to take initiative and\u00a0work independently, while also working flexibly as a member of a\u00a0cross-disciplinary team<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding oral and written communications\u00a0skills, with the ability and confidence to engage with project partners\u00a0and stakeholders clearly and professionally<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of strong organisational and\u00a0self-motivational skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working in a fast-paced\u00a0environment and to deadlines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For the full job specification,<\/strong>\u00a0please visit:\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ria.ie\/news\/vacancies\/vacancy-research-data-specialist-digital-repository-ireland\">https:\/\/www.ria.ie\/news\/vacancies\/vacancy-research-data-specialist-digital-repository-ireland<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"\"><strong>For more\u00a0information<\/strong> on the DRI, see:\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dri.ie\/\">http:\/\/www.dri.ie\/<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>via Dr. Natalie Harrower The Digital Repository of Ireland is hiring a Research Data Specialist to\u00a0lead\u00a0the planning, development and delivery of research data management\u00a0capacity at the Digital Repository of Ireland, the national trusted digital\u00a0repository for Ireland\u2019s social and\u00a0cultural data.
