The On_Culture<\/a><\/em>\u00a0Editorial Board would like to draw your attention to the Call for Abstracts for the second issue: \u201cThe Nonhuman: Concepts, Concerns, and Challenges in the Study of Culture\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We are particularly calling for \u2018creative\u2019 contributions<\/strong> that reflect upon the topic (the Nonhuman) in a non-conventional way: interviews, essays, opinion pieces, reviews of exhibitions, analyses of cultural artifacts and events, photo galleries, videos, works of art\u2026 and more!<\/p>\n

These contributions (so called \u201c_Perspectives<\/em>\u201d) are uploaded on a rolling basis<\/strong>, so no deadline applies. Please have a look at the _Perspective<\/em> section<\/a>\u00a0on our website. Interested in contributing? Send your ideas to the Editorial Board at any time: content@on-culture.org<\/a>. About the e-Journal: <\/strong><\/p>\n

On_Culture: The Open Journal for the Study of Culture<\/em> (ISSN: 2366-4142) is a biannual, peer-reviewed academic e-Journal created and edited by doctoral researchers, postdocs and professors working at the GCSC. It provides a platform and forum for pursuing and reflecting on the study of culture. It investigates, problematizes and develops key concepts and methods in the field. More often than not, developing such new approaches and emerging topics is a collaborative and collective process. On_Culture<\/em> is dedicated to fostering such collective processes and the cultural dynamics at work in thinking about and reflecting on culture.<\/p>\n

The journal consists of three sections: peer-reviewed academic _Articles<\/em><\/strong>, _Essays<\/em><\/strong> and _Perspectives<\/em><\/strong> such as video clips, interviews and visual statements, which can be submitted on a rolling basis. On_Culture<\/em> is the result of collaborative processes and emergent structures in the field of e-publishing. On_Culture<\/em> puts new approaches and emerging topics in the (trans)national study of culture \u2018on the line\u2019 and, in so doing, fills the gap____ between \u2018on\u2019 and \u2018culture\u2019. There are numerous ways of filling the gap, and the plurality of approaches is something for which we strive with each new issue.<\/p>\n

The journal offers numerous opportunities to contribute: Calls for Abstracts released biannually seek contributors of peer reviewed academic articles, while ideas for shorter pieces (textual, visual, graphic\u2026you name it!) pertaining to any and all issue topics are welcome at any time.
