{"id":12854,"date":"2020-01-23T14:01:54","date_gmt":"2020-01-23T13:01:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dhd-blog.org\/?p=12854"},"modified":"2020-04-20T14:45:34","modified_gmt":"2020-04-20T12:45:34","slug":"spring-school-liseh-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dhd-blog.org\/?p=12854","title":{"rendered":"Spring School LiSeH 2020 &#8211; Linked Data &amp; the Semantic Web for Humanities Research, Graz, April 14-17"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Linked Data &amp; the Semantic Web for Humanities Research  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\n\t\t\t\tGraz, Austria, April 14-17, 2020\n\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.uni-graz.at\/fileadmin\/_processed_\/0\/6\/csm_Green_Red_Orange_Brown_Space_Planets_General_Twitch_Banner__002__3facbb7ecc.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The\n spring school is co-organized by the Austrian Centre for Digital \nHumanities and Cultural Heritage at the Austrian Academy of Sciences and\n the Centre for Information Modelling \u2013 Austrian Centre for Digital \nHumanities at the University of Graz and is funded by CLARIAH-AT and \nsupported by the H2020 project ELEXIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The school will give \nan&nbsp;introduction to the concepts related to the Semantic Web and Linked \nData and will give an overview of semantic web technologies and tools \nwith a special focus on application scenarios in the Humanities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Identifying standards and technologies<\/li><li>RDF and triples<\/li><li>Semantic querying: SPARQL and triple stores<\/li><li>Linked data curation<\/li><li>Knowledge Representation and Ontologies<\/li><li>Linked Data in Linguistics<\/li><li>Modelling cultural heritage data<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Participation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participation is free of charge and open to <strong>25 students and scholars of all academic stages<\/strong>. No previous specific skills are required (although basic digital knowledge would be useful).<br>To apply, we ask you to use the application  form and provide a brief motivational note why you would like to attend the spring school (250 words)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSfn6MTiK6EHa8QJKJla6BFEksXseZhyzOlbJgokRgeunxmS2Q\/viewform?usp=sf_link\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Application form<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also consider submitting an abstract to the poster session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\n you would like to present your project, research or idea in the poster \nsession, please include a short abstract of max. 250 words in your \napplication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We reserve the right to choose the individual \nparticipants as well as the reimbursement grantees based on their \nresearch\/study interests and motivation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications are welcomed until <strong>February 29, 23:59 CET.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acceptance will be communicated by March 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reimbursement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reimbursement&nbsp;of\n up to EUR 400.- will be awarded to 3 participants who apply for it in \nthe registration form and are accepted to give a presentation during the\n poster session.
