The role includes use of prosopographical\nresources built at Austrian Academy of Sciences, and contributions to an infrastructure\nfor prosopographical research. Digital prosopography ranges from classical\nancient history to computational social science, from information extraction to\nvisualisations of complex prosopographical data sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The successful candidate will be\nexpected to initiate independent research projects and apply for external\nfunding where feasible; to advise colleagues both within and outside the\nACDH-OeAW about available prosopographical tools and resources, and to present\nhis or her work internationally at conferences and in scientific journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A doctoral degree, either in\ncomputer science, informatics, computational social science or a related field<\/li><li>At least 4 years\nexperience in digital humanities\/computational social science research<\/li><li>Good knowledge of one or\nmore programming languages<\/li><li>Good knowledge of one or more research domains within the humanities<\/li><li>Ability to conceive and\nexecute projects independently<\/li><li>Good communication skills<\/li><li>Written and spoken fluency\nin German and\/or English<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We offer a full-time employment (40 hours per week) for an annual gross salary of \u20ac 43.828,40\naccording to the collective agreement of the Austrian\nAcademy of Sciences. The position will begin on February 1, 2020 or as soon as\npossible thereafter. It is initially terminable by 31.
